Sheriff Harvey Ralph Adams
Harvey “Honey” Ralph Adams was born March 18, 1925 in La Pryor, Texas and died May 6, 2000 in Brewster County, Texas.
After joining the U.S. Army Air Corps in
1943, Harvey Adams was shot down in a
B-24 Bomber over Czechoslovakia on August 22, 1944. His family was notified that he was a POW on October 23, 1944 before his release back to the U.S. Military on May 1, 1945 and returned to the United States on June 29, 1945.
Adams joined Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) as a Game Warden in 1953 through 1980.
As Sheriff, Adams served 12 years for Jeff Davis County and was well respected. His family and friends referred to him as “Honey.”
