John Mortimer Rooney

John Mortimer Rooney was born in 1864 and died in 1933.

John Rooney served as Commissioner of Precinct Two for Brewster County before his term as Sheriff. He helped establish both Brewster County and Jeff Davis County through his commissioners seat. John and his brother Frank were partners in one of the early ranches in the area.
