Richard Edward “Rick” McIvor was born September 26, 1960 in Fort Davis, Texas.

Richard Edward “Rick” McIvor was born September 26, 1960 in Fort Davis, Texas.
Mclvor is a graduate of Fort Stockton High School and was a quarterback at the University of Texas at Austin before he became a back-up quarterback for the Saint Louis Cardinals in the 1984-1985 seasons. He served as the Wildlife Manager at the 06 Kokernot Ranch before serving two terms as sheriff for Jeff Davis County.

Sheriff McIvor was on duty when the Rock House Fire threatened the Fort Davis area in April 2011, burning more than 314,000 acres.

After his term as Jeff Davis County
Sheriff, McIvor became a Deputy Sheriff in Presidio County in 2017.
