Sheriff William Oscar Hale

William Oscar Hale was born October 27, 1882 and died September 1, 1960 in Alpine, Texas.

In 1928, Hale was appointed to the office of the Texas State Scabies Inspector. Hale was appointed Sheriff of Brewster County by the Brewster County Commissioners Court in April 1929, after Sheriff Gourley resigned. In June 1930, Sheriff Hale was elected to the position by a margin of 54 votes over Taylor Otto Lowhausen.
